This town southeast of Bad Ischl has been a health resort since 1868 and the brine healing baths are as well attended as ever. The people of Bad Aussee are particularly proud of the fact that this is the geographic centre of Austria. At the show smithy on "Meranplatz", visitors can watch horses being shod in summer.
