It is located in the northern part of the country, in the Pannonian plain. Its capital and largest city is Novi Sad, at over 300,000 people, while its second largest city is Subotica. Vojvodina has more than 26 ethnic groups and six official languages. The current autonomous status of Vojvodina within Serbia was defined by the Omnibus law from 2002.
