Officially, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Market: The "halls" of Mumbai. The official name of the market center is Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Market, but hardly anyone uses the new name. Built in 1871, the "belly of Bombay" is daily filled with fruits, vegetables, spices, and animals both living freshly slaughtered. Here you can experience the smells and colors of the Orient.
surprisingly clean and organized. the spice king is over priced for spices, just walk around the market and smell all the different spices from the different stands. if you ever want to eat meat again, i would skip the meat market part of the crawford market.
