At the very heart of the Argentine wine industry and at the foot of the Andes Mountains, Mendoza is a thriving tourist destination, closer to Santiago, Chile, than it is to Buenos Aires. The city's clean, tree-lined streets and well-maintained parks provide the focus for a region that is home to more than a thousand wineries producing world-renowned products. But Mendoza has attractions beyond the vineyards. It is an all-seasons destination for climbers, hikers, skiers, rafters, bikers, paragliders, naturalists, and trekkers. Be prepared for very dry summers and wet winters. In keeping with Argentina's largely European flavor, however, the city is dotted with outdoor cafes, which make for ideal resting places during the hot days and warm retreats when it's cold; many have Wi-Fi technology. The city's restaurants and bars offer a range of local and global cuisines. For bars, pubs, restaurants, and discos, head to Calle Aristides or Calle Sarmiento. If night-to-dawn clubbing is your thing, then Chacras de Coria is the place to be. Feeling lucky? The Regency and Provincial casinos will take care of that.

Hello there!! I was in Mendoza last october and I was absolutely amazed not only for their wonderful Malbecs but also for the magnificence of the Andes mountain range (in Mendoza you will find the highest mountain in South America: Aconcagua’s mont). For my trip to Mendoza, I got really useful information from the following sites: - http://www.turismo.mendoza.gov.ar - http://www.mendozaholidays.com Cheers!

I’ve recently been in Mendoza just for a few days and my friend and I went on two wine tours around Mendoza’s two hottests wine regions, Lujan de Cuyo and Uco Valley, offered by Mendoza Holidays (http://www.mendozaholidays.com). We were very impressed and pleased with the services provided to us! The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. She will not only provide you with information regarding the wine industry, she will also give you some more insight into the Mendoza area. The wineries we visited were very unique from each another. The tastings themselves were very private and intimate, as well as very generous. We were not expecting to taste as much wine as we did! The lunches provided on each tour were outstanding. You will not leave hungry! I would strongly recommend both tours for those who are looking for a relaxed yet rich tasting and dining experience.
