Salah ad Din or Salâh-ad-Dîn (Arabic: صلاح الدين) is a governorate in Iraq, north of Baghdad. The province has an area of The estimated population for 2003 was 2,146,500 people. The provincial capital is Tikrit; the province also contains the significantly larger city of Samarra. Before 1976 the province was part of Baghdad Governorate.
