Sétif (سطيف; formerly Sitifis Colonia) is a city in northeastern Algeria. It is the capital of Sétif Province; and it has a population of 239 195 inhabitants as of the 1998 census. The city of Setif is located to the south of the Babor Mountains in the Little Kabylie region which is located on the High Plateaus.
