The 400 animals in Salzburg Zoo are divided up by geograph. zone. Animal species from one continent live in a specific area. The Africa area houses antelopes and rhinoceroses for example.

The Mönchsberg is a mountain ridge approx. 2 km long and 60 m high, which rises up over the old town. Remains of the city defenses are here. Good views over the city from the mountain.
