Before your evening meal don’t turn down flyers being handed out around the Plaza de Armas. Each coupon not only gives you free entry, it is worth a cuba libre. On the back of this tour you will be able to check out which club most suits your tastes. Sadly, the free entry-and-drink system doesn’t appear to apply to Peruvians who are invariably asked to pay, even if their tourist companions get in for free. This discrimination should be discouraged. Also note that free drinks are made with the cheapest, least healthy alcohol; always watch your drink being made and obviously never leave it unattended. If you fancy learning a few Latin dance steps before hitting the dancefloor, many of the clubs offer free lessons. Ask at the door for details or look out for flyers.by
