Diving

Snorkelling is excellent off Oualie Beach and is also good at Nisbett Beach and Tamarind Bay. Good dive sites include Monkey Shoal, where you can find angel fish, black durgons, octopus, flying gurnard and maybe nurse sharks in the overhangs, crevices and grottos of this densely covered reef. Devil’s Caves are another series of grottos, where you can see lobster and squirrelfish and often turtles riding the surge. Nag’s Head, just off Oualie Beach, is a schooling ground for big fish such as king mackerel, barracuda, jacks and yellowtail snappers. Some dive operators will take you as far as Redonda, where diving is superb and untouched.
