Eating

Luxury hotels have computerized information on the more expensive restaurants; particularly useful if you are not sure what to eat. There is also an excellent guide to the more exclusive restaurants at http://www.buenavida.cl.

For excellent cheap seafood lunches make for the Mercado Central (Cal y Canto metro), or the Vega Central market on the opposite bank of the Mapocho. Budget travellers should make the almuerzo their main meal. For cheap meals in the evening try the fuentes de soda and schoperías scattered around the centre.
