Florence is one of the gastronomic capitals of Europe! Rabbit, wild boar and the infamous (for those who try to eat it all) bistecca fiorentina - a huge, extremely rare cut of beef - are traditional foods of this hunter-gatherer northern Italian city. Florence certainly has the right wine to go with this meat-centric menu. In the heart of Tuscany, Montepulciano and Chianti flow freely. Here, pasta is the appetizer, and salad is dessert! (Well, before the limoncello and gelato...and capuccino...dining is an art form.)
