For an artsy city, Florence still has many cheap places to stay. Don't be intimidated by the word 'hostel,' because for 25 Euro a night, you can find private rooms in surprising places! Staff are friendly, and if they don't have accommodation, they'll surely find room for you in their 'cousin's' hostel down the street. Of course, if you're looking for luxury, you'll find it, probably near Piazza della Republica. Florence is a small city where every surface is important and intricate.
