sight Teatro Romano
There are the remains of the cavea and the stage of the theatre, brought to the light in 1938, with a capacity of 6000 spectators, dating back to the second century AD.
sight Cattedrale di San Giusto
Major monument and city symbol, it is the result of the union of two preceeding Romanic Basilicas from the 5th and 11th centuries. Simple facade with a grandiose Gothic rose window.
sight Palazzo Pitteri
The elegant Palazzo Pitteri, situated in Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia, is a construction which heralds the Neoclassical era and was built in 1785 by the architect, Ulderico Moro.
sight Basilica Forense Romana
These are the remains of the location where business and justice were dealt. It was a rectangle with different dimensioned apses on the short sides. There may have been some shops.
sight Faro della Vittoria
The 2nd November marks the commemoration of sea war victims. Possible access for the disabled. The Lighthouse can be reached by bus no. 42 which runs every 10 minutes.
sight Civico Orto Botanico
The Botanical Gardens are divided in two parts: 8000 sqm of flower beds, 2000 sqm of pathways. It can be reached by bus no. 26, stopping in Via Marchesetti.
sight Ex Faro la Lanterna
It is set on two floors. There is one important event, the Regata Barcolana which takes place on the 2nd Sunday of October. It can be reached by bus no. 9, stopping in Campo Marzio.
sight Riserva Naturale Marina di Miramare
There is the possibility of undersea excursions, on reservation with varying prices. The reserve can be reached by bus no. 36, stopping at Grignano, running every 20 minutes.
