Shillington is a borough in Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 5,059 at the 2000 census. It is the place where author John Updike lived until he was 13, and it is the basis for the town of Olinger that he writes about in his fiction.
Shillington is a small suburban area nestled amongst other suburbs outside of Reading. More than 2000 students attend the Governor Mifflin High School, Middle School, and Cumru Elementary School (all part of the Governor Mifflin School District) located in Shillington.
