Clayton information

Clayton is a town in Johnston County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 6,973 at the 2000 census. However, the town's population has grown tremendously since then, with an unofficial population of about 16,943 residents as of 2007, double the year 2000 tally. http://www.idcide.com/citydata/nc/clayton.htm Much of that growth can be attributed to the town's close proximity to the Research Triangle area and access to major highways such as I-40, U.S. 70, and NC 42.
