A flight to Cozumel takes about 2.5 hours from Mexico City, about 40 minutes from Mérida or 15 minutes from Cancún. Of course, there are also flights to Cozumel from many other Mexican and US airports. The passenger ferry from Playa del Carmen takes about 1 hour, the car ferry from Puerto Aventuras or from Puerto Morelos about 2 hours. Crossing by hovercraft from Cancún may also be appealing.
