Placid waters would barely break as this lone tribesman paddled silently. Yet beneath the golden surface, piranha stirred as the sun drew low into the trees. Soon the jungle would come alive and crescendo in the night with howls of monkeys and calls of unseen creatures. For a moment however, we looked on at one another and enjoyed the quiet - two travelers in a world more alive than I had ever experienced.
