Throughout Java, traditional as well as regional performances are offered year’s round, to encourage the continuation of traditional art form, the royal palaces Jogyakarta and Solo offer regularly scheduled performance that are open to the public.
1. Gamelan,Yogyakarta Keraton, the orchestra that accompanies dance and puppet shows,

2. Jathilan, Trance dance accompanied by simple gamelan and mostly perform out door in the
villages of Java. Jathilan also well known as a kuda lumping dance.
3. Ramayana Ballet Prambanan, the story of Ramayana and Shinta told in traditional in
Javanese. Performed at the open air theatre at Prambanan on full moon nights as well as
other venues.
4. Wayang Kulit, Yogyakarta Keraton, leather shadow puppet show, at the Jogyakarta Keraton
and other enues.
5. Wayang Orang, classical Javanese dance based on the Hindu Ramayana and Mahabrata
epics, performed at the Yogyakarta Keraton every Sunday by recognized artists and
students, also at Sriwedari Amusement Park in Solo.
