Need a good place to stay in Naples, wanna find the best beaches in Sicily or need input on Milan nightlife? Temperatures are rising, spring is on Europe’s doorstep – it’s the perfect timing to get to Italy before it gets really hot in the summer and zee Germans hit the beaches.

After introducing the french version (remember there is a “Francaise Launch Party” in Paris on Monday, April 6th at L’Assassin) we are now happy to announce a new addition to the tripwolf family. This time round we are paying tribute to the Dolce Vita and launched the Italian version.

We are excited to integrate many new friends from the country of pasta and gelato who are hereby invited to contribute and share their expert insights into the Italian way of life! Buon divertimento!

This year the entire tripwolf entourage is going to be part of the one of the largest and leading conferences in the world – the ITB in Berlin. ITB is the world’s largest and most important travel fair, whereas 180.000 visitors, 108.000 travel professionals and more than 11.000 booths from 180+ countries contribute to the uniqueness of this conference. Besides seeking partnerships and gathering new insights into the travel industry, we are proud to also be part of the Phocus Wright Blogger Summit, where Lukas from our team will be reporting live via twitter and this blog. The Blogger Summit this year primarly focuses on the impact of social media on online travel and tourism – an exciting topic! Alex & Sebastian already had the chance to be part of the Phocus Wright in Los Angeles a couple of months ago.

Since we are always open to new ideas, partnerships or any travel or tripwolf enthusiasts at ITB, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us directly and then we can organize a meeting over coffee.

#le web A gorgeous boutique Hotel: Mama Shelter

Paris is well known for being probably the most romantic city on the planet. Yet the only thing I noticed was that it’s pricey when I was there last time a couple of years ago. Again, in a couple of weeks, when Lea and I will be at Le Web we looked for an affordable but chic modern Hotel with – obvoiusly – Wifi.

We really had to search the entire web, including tripwolf, until we found out about Mama Shelter via a Next Web’s Blog post. They offer reasonably priced rooms with gorgeous interior and to the geeks adjusted room settings: iMac instead of TV, high speed Wifi, etc.

Have a look at those rooms and mouthwatering interiors by yourself and start booking your stay now.

iPods and iPhones can endanger your life

Illegal track crossing on the OEBB, Austria’s railways, has resulted in 15 casualties this year! That’s more than than the OEBB has recorded in the last six years, according to Thomas Berger, spokesperson for the OEBB.

So, what’s different? Have people just stopped paying attention while crossing rail tracks?

Thomas Berger has already come up with a possible reason: each year, more and more people listen to music while travelling. With music blasting in their ears, they are less likely to notice a train rushing towards them and therefore are at a higher risk for getting run over. “It came to light that some of the casualties had earphones plugged in at the time when they were hit,” says Thomas Berger.

Who would have thought that music would turn into a common cause of death someday?! After a crazy lawsuit, will warning stickers be attached to our new iPods and iPhones: “Warning, listening to music might cause fatal accidents” or “Listening to music can damage your life and interrupt public transportation”?!

So, watch out for those trains!! Don’t listen to music when on the move or if you have to- simply: don’t cross rail tracks without looking and listening first!

Maria/tripwolf this post has been translated (thanks Lea!) and edited (go me!). The original post can be found here.

You might have already noticed the bold badge on the left sidebar of this blog: tripwolf is proud to be part of the LeWeb’s blogger network! We will be blogging LIVE from this amazing conference in Paris on December 9/10.

The LeWeb is organized by entrepreneuer and web enthusiast Loic le Moir, founder of Seesmic. Within just a few years it became one of the most influential European web and tech conferences. An extraordinary list of keynote speakers and an impressive list of participants guarantee the quality of this conference.

tripwolf team member and a blogger himself, Lukas, will be covering the entire conference for tripwolf. He is going to watch out for what people are going to say about the online travel market: What’s new, what’s next and who to keep an eye on!
