Most of these breweries are open daily for tours, but it is best to call ahead to make sure you don't need to have an appointment. If you set out to taste them all, you can get a small sheet with all the names of the breweries on it - if you get them all stamped, you can get a free t-shirt from the Vermont Brewer's Association!

My favorite Vermont beers are Switchback and Trout River...oh yeah and American Flatbread or the Vermont Pub and Brew that makes a wicked raspberry ale...anyway - the Switchback brewery is in South Burlington. It's very small, and only makes one kind of beer...simple. Drink as much as you can because you can't take it home unless you buy a keg - they only distribute locally...

If you want to do a walking tour (no driving!), you can stick to Burlington and stop by Magic Hat first (ok maybe a short drive into town after the first couple of beers) then stop at Switchback, head to Three Needs, American Flatbread and Vermont Pub and Brewery!

In July, there is a three day brewer's fest! Happy (and responsible) beer drinking!
If this isn't enough for you, Vermont also makes hard cider and lots of wine..." marked_deleted="0" modified="2009-09-11 20:15:20.847708" modifier_id="35" privacy="1" static_map_url="http://maps.google.com/staticmap?hl=en&maptype=roadmap&format=png&markers=44.428319,-73.212883,reda%7C44.455595,-73.218944,redb%7C44.477056,-73.214375,redc%7C44.477074,-73.211458,redd%7C44.476553,-73.214154,rede%7C44.337332,-72.756153,redf%7C43.512996,-72.401527,redg%7C43.587852,-72.658510,redh%7C42.878383,-73.196418,redi%7C42.851551,-72.560165,redj%7C44.132930,-73.078323,redk%7C43.715118,-72.308906,redl%7C44.029399,-73.172401,redm%7C44.569263,-72.603439,redn%7C44.473926,-72.713905,redo%7C44.197143,-72.501792,redp%7C44.520250,-72.001391,redq&key=ABCDABCD&size=123123123x123123123&path=rgb:0x0000ff,weight:5|44.428319,-73.212883|44.455595,-73.218944|44.477056,-73.214375|44.477074,-73.211458|44.476553,-73.214154|44.337332,-72.756153|43.512996,-72.401527|43.587852,-72.658510|42.878383,-73.196418|42.851551,-72.560165|44.132930,-73.078323|43.715118,-72.308906|44.029399,-73.172401|44.569263,-72.603439|44.473926,-72.713905|44.197143,-72.501792|44.520250,-72.001391" status="0" sum_locations="17" sum_votes="2" title="Tour Vermont's Breweries" triplocation_id="306760" />
